After an opening week of stellar individual performances turned in by our talented girls athletes competing in winter sports, the second week did not disappoint as well.
The Week of Nov. 11 performances also marked our first two-time PressBox812 Sports Athlete of the Week winner of the year. Dugger Union senior Jordyn Smith has been selected as the newest winner of the weekly award, sponsored by Landry Masonry Construction.
Smith was also an award winner during the fall sports season while in the Bulldogs’ volleyball uniform.
JORDYN SMITH: The Lady Bulldog senior nearly recorded the ultra-rare quadruple double, leading her team to a win over Lighthouse Christian. Smith tied her career-high with 24 points in the win while also pulling down 11 rebounds and coming up with 10 steals for an impressive triple-double. The senior dished out eight assists, falling just two dimes shy of the quadruple double.
