As like the opening week of the winter sports season, the Week of November 18 did not disappoint in terms of stellar individual performances from our talented girl student-athletes.
Topping the list was a standout student-athlete who also garnered some state-wide recognition for her performance as well.
North Central’s Jalyn Davidson continued her torrid start to the hoops season and as a result has been named the latest PressBox812 Sports Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Landry Masonry Construction.
JALYN DAVIDSON — The Ladybird senior averaged 29.5 points per game in a pair of wins including a 33-point outburst in an overtime win over Linton-Stockton. Davidson, who also won IBCA Player of the Week for District 3, also pulled down 12 rebounds in the two games. She dished out eight assists in the Ladybirds’ win over Greencastle and came up with a pair of steals against the Miners. Behind Davidson’s fast start (20-plus points in all seven games) North Central has ascended to the No. 1 ranked in the Class 1A polls.
