A pair of student-athletes who put up big numbers on the football field and volleyball court highlight the latest winners for the PressBox812 Sports Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Landry Masonry Construction.

With their accomplishments, North Central running back Travaughn Cockrell and Shakamak volleyball power hitter Brylee Faulk have been selected as winners for the Week of October 14.

BRYLEE FAULK — In the Lakers sectional semfinal win over conference rival Clay City, the talented sophomore put away a career-best 24 shots. Led by the powerful right arm of Faulk, the Lakers went on to win their second-straight sectional championship. 

TRAVAUGHN COCKRELL —  The T-Bird senior accounted for over half of the team’s season-best rushing total, leading the team to a Week 8 win. Cockrell posted a game-high 186 rushing yards and found the end zone three times in the regular season finale win over conference foe Eastern Greene.
