A pair of student-athletes who put up career-best times on the cross county course highlight the latest winners for the PressBox812 Sports Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Landry Construction.
With their accomplishments, Shakamak sophomore Aiden Barber and North Knox freshman Eva Claycomb have been selected as the winners for the Week of October 21.
AIDEN BARBER — Making his first career regional appearance, the Shakamak sophomore posted a career-best time of 17 minutes, 53.5 seconds at the Brownsburg Regional. Barber wrapped up his impressive finish to the season as the Lakers’ top finisher in the meet.
EVA CLAYCOMB — The North Knox freshman had her remarkable season come up just short of a trip to the state finals. Claycomb finished two individual spots away from making the state meet by posting a career-best time of 20:08.3 during the Evansville Mater Dei Regioal. Claycomb’s time was 44 seconds faster than her previous best.
