NORTH KNOX 67, Vincennes Rivet 35: The Class 2A No. 3 ranked Warriors picked up up their fourth straight win Thursday night. The hosts raced out to a 20-4 lead after the first eight minutes of play and never let their Blue Chip Conference and county rivals get comfortable.

After taking a 37-14 lead into the locker room, the Warriors put the game on ice by outscoring Rivet 25-12 in the third.

Alex McKinley paced a balanced scoring attack for North Knox by netting a game-high 18 points. The senior netted eight points in the third period to help bury the Patriots.

Baylee McClure and Brynna Collins both added 17 points in the win. McClure did most of her damage in the third as well, netting 10 points.

Jade Richter and Brooklyn Sturgeon rounded out the scoring for the Warriors with eight and seven points, respectively.

The win also may have proved costly for the Warriors, as sophomore reserve Roselyn Armes exited the contest late in the game with an apparent knee injury. The extent of Armes’ injury is not expected to be known for sure until next Wednesday.

Junior Lexi Primus is also missing from the Warriors’ lineup with an injury. The Warriors are hopeful Primus — a Lipscomb University commit — will be able to return shortly after the upcoming Thanksgiving break.

North Knox (4-1, 3-0) plays host to Bloomfield Saturday night.

Riverton Parke 61, Dugger Union 29: A slow start hampered the host Bulldogs in their non-conference setback Thursday.

The Panthers’ defense held the hosts to a single free throw in the first period and just seven more points in the second in building a 26-8 advantage.

Behind seven points from Jordyn Smith, the Bulldogs were able to cut into the visitors’ lead in the third, 14-11. But the Panthers put away the game with a 24-7 edge over the final eight minutes of play.

Smith and Sage Stahl paced the Dugger offense with 12 points apiece. The double-digit point total was the fourth straight game for Smith while Stahl has now achieved the mark three out of the last four games.

Arianna Frazee rounded out the scoring with five points in the loss.

Dugger Union (2-3) will have some time to rest up before hitting the court again, not playing until facing Eastern Greene in a road contest on Dec. 4.
