Dugger Union, Shakamak and Sullivan cross country teams all took to the course Saturday morning in the Riverton Parke Invite.

And all three schools had a representative in the Top 10.

The Lady Arrows came away with the best team finish by placing second out of seven complete teams and parts of 14 overall schools.

Shakamak placed fourth in the boys team standings while Dugger Union freshman Skylar Hall turned in the top individual performance by placing sixth in the boys race.

In the girls’ meet, Seegar ran away in the team race and finished with a perfect score of 15 as it placed five runners in the top six.

Sullivan finished with 90 points — 11 points ahead of third-place Clay City and 17 better than conference rival West Vigo in fourth.

Sophomore Rachel Ramirez paced the Lady Arrows by finishing 14th overall in the field of 64 runners.  Ramirez covered the 3.1-mile course with a time of 24 minutes, 54.90 seconds. Teammate Kate Ridgway was second on the team and 20th overall. The senior finished with a time of 25:45.08.

Sophomore Avari Kelley (27) finished with a time of 26:25.08 while Avery Weitekamp (30) and freshman Emmarie Earley (35) rounded out the scoring for Sullivan with times of 26:52.67 and 27:09.74.

Shakamak only had four runners in the meet which resulted in one of seven teams with an incomplete roster. The Lakers were led by junior Elayni Stone who placed ninth overall — tops among area runners. Stone covered the course with a time of 23:23.61.

Laker freshman Isla Kaufman finished second on the team and 23rd overall, while Chase Hammond (32) and Clara Barber (59) rounded out the results for the short-handed Lakers.

On the boy’s side, Hall broke his own school record in his Top-10 finish. The freshman knocked nearly seven seconds off the Bulldogs’ standard by finishing with a time of 19:20.96.

A total of 72 runners completed the boys race.

Rayden Rehmel paced the Lakers to their fourth-place finish by running 13th overall. Rehmel posted a time of 19:57.24.

Seeger ran away with the boys title with 26 points, which was 36 points better than Clay City.

Monrovia placed third with 89 points — eight points ahead of the Lakers.

Jaden Johnson finished second on the Lakers and 16th overall. The sophomore posted a time of 20:20.40.

Sullivan, who fell one runner shy of a complete team, was led by Jeremy Salesman’s 20th-place effort. The junior covered the course with a time of 20:33.49.

Shakamak senior Will Miller finished one spot outside the Top 25 by posting a time of 21:10.34, while Aiden Barber (28) and Ian Samm (31) rounded out the Lakers’ scoring.

Sullivan senior Ben McKinley finished second on the Arrows and 29th overall with a time of 21:15.90.

Nick Brooks (40) and Jaden Norris (52) also ran for the Arrows.

Kaine Stone was Dugger Union’s only other runner and placed 72nd.
