BLOOMFIELD — The Class 1A Sectional 57 championship game is all set and it will be an all-area showdown.
North Central and Shakamak both picked up wins in the semifinal round Friday night inside Glover Gymnasium at Bloomfield.
The Ladybirds scored the first 19 points against Clay City and never looked back in a 57-36 romp in the first game of the night.
Shelby Seay poured in a game-high 29 points to lead the way.
In the nightcap, the Lady Lakers held Bloomfield scoreless in the first period and led 24-4 midway through the second frame before staving the Lady Cards’ charge.
Aubree Langford hit a key 3-pointer in the fourth quarter to help Shakamak knock off the 3-time defending champions, 37-27 on the Cards’ home floor.
Emma Herrador led the Lakers with 11 points in the win.
North Central will be playing in its sixth straight sectional championship game.
Shakamak won the regular season matchup at North Central.
