Bloomfield 5, Sullivan 4: The Arrows dropped a heartbreaker Friday night as the two teams combined for five runs in the seventh inning.

Sullivan erased a 3-1 deficit with three runs in the top of the seventh. Hunter Mason recorded a run-scoring single to pull the Arrows even while an error on the same play allowed for the visitors to grab a 4-3 lead.

But the Cardinals mounted a two-out rally in the home half. After the first two batters struck out, Bloomfield loaded the bases with back-to-back walks and a hit batter. A bang-bang play at first base, on a grounder, was ruled in favor of the Cards which tied the game. Bloomfield scored the game-winning run home two pitches later on a wild pitch.

Spencer Hanks came up with an RBI single in the top of the second to pull Sullivan even before all of the dramatics in the seventh.

Sullivan outhit the Cardinals, 10-7, led by a trio of knocks by Ty Hamilton. Marcus Roshel and Will Brooks also produced multi-hit games in the loss. Brooks pitched the first 4.1 innings and had nine strikeouts in the no-decision.

SHAKAMAK 5, Riverton Parke 3: After having their 6-game winning streak snapped earlier in the week, the Class 1A No. 4 ranked Lakers headed into prom weekend with a second straight win.

Shakamak scored twice in the fifth inning for a 3-0 lead and twice more in the top of the seventh which proved to be the difference.

Ian Samm doubled home Jaden Johnson for a 4-2 lead in the seventh before Linden Jenkins raced home on a wild pitch for the Lakers’ final tally.

A two-out walk, stolen base and single resulted in the Panthers’ final run.

Sophomore Jaden Johnson slugged his first career varsity home run in the fifth inning which gave the Lakers a 3-0 lead.

Johnson finished the game 3 for 3 at the plate with three runs scored and drove home two. The sophomore also pitched into the sixth inning to collect the win. The right-handed hurler scattered four hits and fanned four batters.

Carter Crosby recorded the final five outs for the save.

Jenkins and freshman Jalen Johnson both had two hits in part of the Lakers’ 9-hit attack, while Owen Cox recorded a double.

With the win, Shakamak improved to 9-5 on the season and has won eight of its last nine games.

Lawrenceville 8, North Knox 2: The Indians scored in just two innings but proved to be more than enough to pick up the road win. The visitors pushed across four runs in both the second and seventh innings.

The Warriors grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the home half of the first inning. Eli Elkins and Braxton Yenne pulled off a double steal and Elkins raced home when the throw down to second sailed into the outfield.

The Indians were a single shy of hitting for the cycle in the 4-run second inning which was also aided by a walk and a hit batter.

Will Arnold pulled North Knox to within 4-2 with an RBI single in the last of the fifth. Rylan Oxby started the frame with a double down the third-base line and scored on Arnold’s knock.

The Indians outhit North Knox 9-5 in the game.

Kaleb Archer (double), Tyler Clark and Yenne all recorded hits in the loss.
