Following a Week 2 home loss, North Central football coach Joe Kutch stated it may be good for his team to get away the following week.
A road trip to Indianapolis Friday night proved to be just what the doctor ordered for the Thunderbirds.
North Central earned its first win of the season with a 56-0 trouncing of Irvington Prep Academy.
North Central entered the game with just 22 points through the first two games of the season. The T-Birds matched their season total before the first half had expired Friday night.

North Central scored once in the third period to enforce the running clock for the remainder of the contest before finding the end zone twice more in the fourth quarter.
Making his first start under center, Nathan Trench accounted for four total touchdowns in the romp.
Trench, who played the final 30 minutes under center in the week two loss, tossed for a pair of touchdowns Friday night and ran in two more. The quarterback also converted a pair of 2-point conversions.
Malakai Urbain hauled in one of Trench’s touchdown passes for a 47-yard score.
Greydyn Walters scored once on the ground and one receiving touchdown.
